1. Nothing but branding, MS Lists is designed for Teams, and they dropped the SharePoint branding to prevent confusion (Though realistically, MS Teams is just a UI wrapper for SharePoint if you get down to it)
2. See 1.
3. You can. In MS Teams, navigate to the "MS List", click the three dots in the menu bar and select "Open in SharePoint". This gives you the Sharepoint URL you can use to import the list into Power BI.
Essentially Microsoft are trying to cut down confusion but it's just causing more confusion as they don't update their other programs to reflect these changes.
Can't agree more. This rebranding thing is making it so much more complicated.
I agree with Alexander, MS causes more confusion when they update and rebrand. I have been struggling to master the 356 environment / Power Platform for the past few months. The benefits of the Power App platfom no code/low code environment is largely negated by the rebranding of tools in the platform and the maze like pretzal logic to navigate the platform. As brilliant as the Microsoft engineers are, the platform will never be user friendly until they make it easy for regular users in busy and demanding work environments, who don't have IT and computer science degrees, to use.
PLEASE Microsoft, simply the UI/UX for this platform!
