Hi all,
A colleague of mine and I are working on a report (pbix file) that is in a shared folder (GDrive).
After creating a first draft of the report I saved the pbix file in the shared folder and my colleague made other changes to the report. The weird fact is that, even if he has saved the last version of the file, when I open the report I see the message There are pending changes in your queries that haven't been applied.
Do you have any idea why this happens? Why do I see pending changes if the pbix file is saved by my colleague?
Thanks
Hi,
After further investigation, I have found the cause of the message "There are pending changes...".
The pending changes are caused by a Power Query loader that imports all excel files in a folder. In particular, the function transform file (automatically created by Power Query and which I have never modified) has the first line equal to "Origine = (Parametro25 as binary) => let" while my colleague has the line "Source = (Parametro25 as binary) => let" (see the snapshot below).
This fact is very strange because the report has multiple loaders that import all the files from a folder, so I don't understand why Power BI detects changes only in this loader.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Comparing the model.bim files, another difference is the Power BI version (my version was updated in October and my colleague's version in August)
Here is the approach used to find the pending changes (hoping it will be useful to others):
Hi @Giuseppe89
Power BI can sometimes cache data or query settings locally on your machine. If your colleague has made changes to the data sources or queries, your local cache might not have been updated. Try clearing the cache or restarting Power BI Desktop to see if the changes are reflected.
Or you can try refreshing the data when you open the report. This can sometimes resolve pending changes by re-running the queries.

Hi @Anonymous ,
Unfortunately, even clearing the cache the message is still there. Any other suggestions?
Thanks
Hi @Giuseppe89
Sorry for the late reply.
Given I have so little information at this time, I can't tell what's causing your problem. You can create a support ticket for free and a dedicated Microsoft engineer will come to solve the problem for you.
It would be great if you continue to share in this issue to help others with similar problems after you know the root cause or solution.

Hello @Giuseppe89 ,
check Power query, there might be changes that your colleague didn't apply.

Hello @Idrissshatila,
my colleague has saved the pbix file and when he opens the report he does not see the message. Is it possible to have pending changes even if the report has been saved? If so, what should it do?
