Whats is the connector you are using? Are you using the CQD connector?

If you don't mind some questions to debug the problem:
- Is the time out in the service or in Power BI Desktop?
- What is the visualization you are trying to use?
- Do you get any additional message than the time out message?
- Can you also provide what is the data size that you are using for your DQ? (row number)
