Visual Calculations

I've seen a new desktop version of Power Bi that has the announced Visual Calculations as a new available option from the main menu, without any explanation. I tried it but couldn't manage the output in terms of formatting options. Also, when you remove the calculation from the chart, it's no longer available, so it's not saved anywhere. I'm looking for some documentation but there is only an "old" video on youtube. Is it available by mistake? Any way to have some info on this new tool?

there's only 2 months old videos that where presenting the idea before it gets live.

yes, it's not saved anywhere because it's only for the current visual so it's not saved in the model, it only shows on the visual level.

In any case, I have noticed at least a couple of problems with this new version of Desktop:
using chicletslicer latest version the text contained in the box that I see fine in Desktop, is truncated when the dashboard is displayed online
some charts that used to show running totals using DAX now give an incorrect result.
