On all our meeting rooms with have a device that allows users to book the room. We then have an SQL DB that shows if the device is online, firmware version, etc.
To date, I've only worked with SP Lists and the restrictive 30min refresh schedule. I want to create a report that will show the device online status in real time and not having to wait for the data refresh every 30mins. Is this possible and if so, whats the best approach.
Thanks in advance,

Hi @StuartSmith Well, you could use DirectQuery mode in Power BI to fetch real-time data directly from your SQL database whenever the report is accessed. Another way is to set up a Power BI streaming dataset to push live updates from the SQL database via APIs. For on-demand data retrieval, you could use paginated reports, which refresh every time they are viewed. Ensure an on-premises data gateway is configured if your SQL database is hosted locally.
