Vertical line for todays date in Line and Clustered Column Chart

Hi all.

I have tried to read up on this, and I find many similar questions, and it seems people are getting it to work.

I would like to visualize today's date on my chart:

I have made a measure to give me the today's date with: 

TodaysDate = TODAY()

I have switched the visualization to LINE CHART but after choosing the "TodaysDate" measure the field "What field should we base this on?" turns blank:

I change my "MonthInCalender" to for instance "YEAR" and I do get the: "X-axis Constant Line" option.

Anybody got an idea for what I do wrong?

Did you find a solution to this - I'm also having the same issue where the field stays blank after choosing the 'TodaysDate' field

Nah, I really did not. I ended up with adding a graphical line that I have to move manually. Not really a solution but I moved on to other more important stuff. But would have been cool to have that functionality

Could this have anything with how the dates are formatted? If so can anybody help me understand what kind of format it should have?

I do excactly what you show in your images, but in my result when I choose the field value in thee "FX" setting, the field just stays blank.
