as far as I know, you can create measures on Live Connections, but no calculated columns.
The measures are saved as part of the report.

@Anonymous - Not currently to the best of my knowledge. I am assuming here that you are referring to a "live" Power BI dataset connection.

I've tried it myself and it does allow me to create measures but I was wondering if that's because I was the dataset author 🤔
