I need help using a reference table.
I have these in my Model:
I want to add a "Description" column to billing-mrc table and to billing-nrc table.
The following are not a real formulas, just the logic of what I want to do.
For: billing-mrc table new Description column:
If (billing-mrc [Item Code] = Table1 [Item Code] , Table1[Descritpion] , billing-mrc{Item Code])
For billing-nrc table new Description column:
If (billing-nrc [Item Code] = Table1 [Item Code] , Table1[Descritpion] , billing-nrc{Item Code])
I really appreciate your time and assistance.

Hi @redcof !
Maybe using the RELATED function solves your problem.
RELATED( Table1[Description] )
Let me know if that helps!

That works great for the ones that have matches. The rest are left blank. That may be OK for now. I will let the person with the data know about the missing values.
Thanks!
Well, you should be able to solve that with an IF statement:
VAR _Related =
RELATED( Table1[Description] )
VAR _Result =
IF(
ISBLANK( _Related ),
billing-mrc [Item Code],
_Related
)
RETURN
_Result
If this solves your problem please mark this answer as solution.
