Using measures in a table/Matrix

Hi,

I am a student currently doing a work placement and have been tasked with creating this visual based on what the client has asked for. I have been able to create the measures required to achieve this but am struggling with how to visualise this in the way they require

Data I have:

Schools

  • Name

Students

  • Name
  • School ID

Subject

  • Name

Results

  • On track (1 or 0)
  • Above (1 or 0)
  • Score (Number)
  • Subject ID
  • Student ID

I have created measures (For other graphs):

  • Total Students On Track (Sum of on track)
  • Total Students Above (Sum of above)
  • Average Score (Average Scoie)

Need to be able to plot these into this table or matrix (Have been looking at matrix as expected this might be the best way to achieve this):

HI @Anonymous,

I think matrix visual should suitable for your scenario.

AFAIK, current power bi does not allow you to use the measure formulas as category fields, you need to create a table with all the category types that you displayed in the snapshot.

After these, you can use new category table fields as row, school as the column, and write a measure formula with switch function to switch different expression results based on current account and add category labels.

Hi @Anonymous ,

You requirement is not clear.

I see you have created a matrix but what kind of charts you are looking for?

Share some sample screenshots like your source data and what all charts you are looking for?

Thanks,

Pragati

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I have not yet created a matrix or table visual because I am unsure how to create it, the visual above was an example of what I am looking to create.

Below I have provided a screen shot of the measures and calculated columns which I had created from the dataset.

Field List:

Calculated columns :

Here is an example of a chart I already have which shows the average score for each subject across all schools.

Below are the tables I have for my dataset:

Thanks for any help
