I am trying to parse a Windows file path to create a column for every folder in the path. However, if an error occurs (no more backslashes exist) when using 'Search' to find the next backslash, I want to be able to set the column to '-None-'. If there is not an error, I still want the folder value.
Here are two sample values I want to parse:
1. c:\folder1\folder2
2. c:\folder1
Here is my code:
@Jeff2Jets ,Based on what I got
can you try split by delimiter with last occurrence option in power bi
Power Query Split Column , Split Column By Delimiter:https://youtu.be/FyO9Vmhcfag
Thank you for the suggestion, but what I really need to know is how to handle the error trapping with the 'Search' statement. Would you be able to provide an example of how to trap the error for the statement below:
Var Position2 = IfError (Search ("/", table[column], Position1 + 1), 0)
What I want is to have the 'Position2' variable be set to the location if a 2nd \ (backslash) exists, but be set to 0 (zero) if a 2nd \ (backslash) does not exist.
Thank you.
