Use parameter in new column

Hi, I would like to use a parameter in a formula for a new column. However, the column is always empty.

Here is an example:

What is missing? Thanks in advance!

  • What is the parameter here? All slicer joined to the table will pass automatically.

I don't have a key relationship there, so not sure how I can use your suggestion?
I have added screenshots to my original post to better explain what I am trying to achieve.

    Hi dp32 ,

Column shows static values. So you need to create a measure to show it.

    Measure =
    SELECTEDVALUE('Table'[Value])*Parameter[Parameter Value]

Hm... Thanks but this is not exactly what I want. I really need to write back the data to the table. My workaraound is now indeed to create a measure, however, it does not solve my real business issue.

So if Power BI cannot solve this problem, only solution would then to do this in an SQLServer, or?

Has there been any update to this? I am trying to use the What If Parameter to establish an "evaluation date" for completion of certain tasks. So I need it to write back to individual records to then compare the actual completion date to the evaluation date established by the user. I don't think a calculated measure would help me in this scenario. I was able to create a column using the two What If Parameters (Evaluation Day and Evaluation Month) but it is populating 01/01/2020 because the default values for both my parameters are set at 1.
