Hello,
Is there a way that when we are satisfied with the layout of a given visual we could 'transfert' this into the theme (in case of Custom Theme) and use it as the default.
I know that copying the visual and altering fields works too, but I would like to cretae a decent Theme for multiple reports.
The built in Theme editor is lets say, very basic !

Hi @LeboeufHarry ,
I'm sorry that power BI is not able to achieve such a function now. I see that you have created idea for it and I have voted for it。

@LeboeufHarry , see if these can help you for theme

This is not what I'm looking for. I know the techniques in JSON, but I would like to make it more interactive.
If I have setup a good layout for a given Visual I would like to generated the JSON code for it.
Ultimate dream is that it goes into the Theme and then we can save it, intermediate is that we receives the JSON code and we can paste it in our myTheme.json.
This develops much faster then editing everything in JSON, reload the theme in the pbix, ....
Made a idea for it https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/40584181-copy-visual-layout-in-th...
Hi @LeboeufHarry ,
Maybe Power BI Templates will meet your requirements: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/deep-dive-into-query-parameters-and-power-bi-templates/

I know templates, but this is not what I'm looking for.
I want a thema that can be implemented on several older, existing reports too.
And I know how to create a json-theme file file by hand.
The very basic functions that are in de PBI Desktop Theme-editor are not sufficient.
So I was thinking that on a given visual, that meet your expectations on layout you could launch a 'call' (or whatever you name it) that causes the layout settings to be 'pasted' in the theme as the default for that visual type.
At that moment you would be able to save the theme as a custom theme.
Next you start with another type of visual ans dave it again.
That would be the easy way to build a theme.
Just like in word you can select a formatted text and transform its layout into a Style that can be re-used on other parts of text.

Lets hope others vote too, because I realy think this would be a great add-on.
Theming and branding will become more and more important in companies.
