I need to creat a new measure that will group like products together. See the table below, where the New_Measure column is what I want to create.
I cannot create a new column because I have to use Live Connection. I've tried using the SWITCH function, but it requies an aggregate on the Product_Code, which breaks the results if the Product_Code isn't part of the visual. Does anyone know of a way to basically create a custom grouping with a Live Connection?
| Product_Code | Sales_Amount | New_Measure |
| ABC | $100 | Painting |
| BCD | $500 | Painting |
| CCD | $200 | Painting |
| EEC | $300 | Maintenance |
| BDS | $700 | Maintenace |

Hi @Anonymous ,
try this.
New_Measure =
SWITCH (
SELECTEDVALUE ( 'Table'[Product_Code] ),
"ABC", "Painting",
"BCD", "Painting",
"BDS", "Maintenance",
"CCD", "Painting",
"EEC", "Maintenance"
)
