Hi,
When my PDF dataset updates and the PDF page number increase due to there being more data, Power Bi will not refresh becacue there are more pages than the original PDF.
For example, if i start with the below and assuming the data takes up 12.5 pages, when the PDF data is updated but stays within 13 pages it updates fine, however, if the PDF updats and the data consumes more than 13 pages it will not update.
Any help on this would be hugle appreciated.
Thanks
Hi, @Anonymous
It is assumed that there is no sensitive information here, if there is, contact me to change it.
Here is a sample file created using the data you provided, which works as usual.
Note that all columns are on one page. I don't think this has anything to do with what the data is, this should be a problem with the operation.
Hope this helps.

Hi, @Anonymous
Maybe this is an accidental problem, please make sure that your PDF file information has not changed, such as path, file name. I tested this problem. I tried to add page data to the same PDF file. The original PDF file had 8 pages. I copied the file and increased the number of pages to 16 pages. Click Refresh, and PowerBI successfully loaded the correct data. . Please make sure that there are no errors in your operation and try again.
Hope this helps.

For info, this is the error message
Hi, @Anonymous
Since PDF files have many pages, it is necessary to create the same table header for each page, so that the data can be identified as the same table. If the page data except the first page does not have a table header, it will be identified as a different table in Power BI recognition and automatically add column names to the data, such as Column1, Column2, etc.
If your data from Excel, you can select "page layout" from Excel above - "page setup" - select print titles --sheet- Rows to repeat at top, click "OK" and then to export to PDF, this PDF page data have a header row.
Hope this helps.

Hey Team _ Zeon Zheng,
Not quite there yet 🙂
I currently have a headers for each page but still not recognising as 1 table, see below.
Thanks
Hi, @Anonymous
How did you add the new data, I guess it might have something to do with the operation you did to add the new data.
If you are interested, here is my test data, I added the new data in Excel and re-exported it as a pdf file with the same name, changed the name of the first pdf file or deleted it, then clicked refresh and power bi successfully refreshed the data.
If you can work with my data, you can check your file manipulation process and then try again.
Hope this helps.

Hi, @Anonymous
In fact, I am not sure what I should do with the above data.
Please make sure that the data you provide does not contain sensitive information. If it is not, please edit the above information and re-provide the data without sensitive information. It is best that you can provide the PDF file before and after adding the data, because I will test whether it can be in my environment Refresh normally, maybe I can find the reason for not working.
Hi Team _ Zeon Zheng,
Not to Worry, no sensative data, this is sample data.
Thanks
Hi, @Anonymous
You can test the sample data above and then find the reason for not refreshing in your sample, if you have found the answer please let me know. It will help the others in the community find the solution easily if they face the same problem with you. Thank you.
Hi Zeon Zheng,
Thank you for your response.
See below, because the table description changes as the pages increase (1 - 13) to (1- 14) it doesn’t recognise the path for some reason. is there a way i can get it to ignore the page counts?
Thanks
