Unable to open .pbix file, stuck

I have .pbix file which has some of direct connections and lots of visuals which uses these connections to calculate measures.

I cannot open this file. When I open it it loading and loading and get stuck. Then I need to end Power Bi process in order to close this file.

Is there a way to open such file? How?

Can it be something wrong with file?

Hi, froxas

According to your description, you are experiencing lag when opening a .pbix file with many visual objects, here are some possible solutions:

  1. Make sure you have updated to the latest version of Power BI Desktop or improve the performance of your computer to meet the minimum requirements for using Power BI.
  2. Cache problem: Navigate to "C:\Users\[your username]\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop Store App\AnalysisServicesWorkspaces" and delete the contents of this folder to clear the cache.
  3. Open the PBIX file on another machine to see if it is a local problem.
  4. File corruption issues:

4.1 If you have a backup of a previous version of the file, please try to open the backup.

4.2 If there is no backup file, please be careful to make more backups before proceeding with the following steps.

  • Rename the .pbix file to .zip and extract the contents.
  • Look for any obvious corruption in the extracted file.
  • Compress the contents back into a .zip file and rename it to .pbix.
  • Try to open the newly created .pbix file.

If none of the above methods solved your problem, you can provide more details such as: size of the .pbix file, error alerts received, etc.
