Hi,
I am currently unable to open my created powerbi project (.pbip). I get the following error:
-> "there is a proble mwith the model.bim file in your power bi project". Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: " changing the partition type from or to PartionType.Calculated is not allowed.
I am pretty sure this is related to the datasource changes i have made recently. More specifically, I changed the schema of a table I am accessing via directquery. How can i solve this? preferably i open the file, and recreate the connection to the updated tables.
Kind regards,
Kjell
Hi @Anonymous, Thanks for your reply.
We managed to sovle this by re-cloning the github repository somehow. Feels like some metadata from the repo is cached locally which results in the PBIP file not being able to open properly?
Anyhow, we can continue for now, but the issue isn't necessarly resolved.
Kind regards,
Kjell
Hi @kjellvs ,
When changing a model that uses Direct Query to connect a Power BI dataset or Analysis Services model, you must update the ChangedProperties and PBI_RemovedChildren collection for the changed object to include any modified or removed properties. If ChangedProperties and/or PBI_RemovedChildren isn't updated, Power BI Desktop may overwrite any changes the next time the query is edited or the model is refreshed in Power BI Desktop.Refering to:Power BI Desktop projects (PBIP) - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
Hope it helps!
