Unable to open PBIX file which used Azure AS connection ,the old AS connection persists

Initial setup had a Azure AS gateway configured along with PowerBI gateway in the same Azure region Canada Central and then the PowerBI pbix file used to load with the AS connection in both desktop and PowerBI service.

The Azure AS service was changed ( From a trial edition to Basic edition ). After changing the AS connection to new a server name now we are not able to open the Pbix file on desktop and overirde the old Azure AS connection.

Everytime when we delete the old connection from global settings and try opening the powerbi desktop it doesnt work.It gives is the Microsoft auth screen and when we provide credentials it doesnt work and throws the below message.

What have we tried ?

Created a brand new PBIX file with new AS connection and able to connect with brand new file but when we go back to opening old file which used the gateway ( which isnt used now ) it doesnt work.

What PowerBI version we use ?

Feb version2021

Any help to overcome this challenge will be highly appreciated . The powerbi file has locked up now .
