Unable to load data in Azure Cost Management PowerBI Connector

Hi, I understand that PowerBI Connector for Azure Cost Management works with EA and MCA accounts. Our Azure cloud account is running through a CSP and the subscriptions are Azure Plan.

I believe they are recently migrated from MCA to Azure Plans now. When I try to connect, the queries fail and do not load data.

Is my understanding correct that Azure Plan will not be supported by PowerBI Connector for Azure Cost Management?

Is there any way to load data manually and then use the same template?

Hi, @Dheerajsharma14

Yes, you are correct that the Power BI Connector for Azure Cost Management currently does not support Azure Plan subscriptions.

To load data manually, you can export the cost data from the Azure portal as a CSV or Excel file, and then import that data into Power BI. You can then use the same Power BI template that you were using before to visualize the data.

To export the cost data from the Azure portal, follow these steps:

  • 1. Go to the Azure portal and navigate to the Cost Management + Billing section.
  • 2. Click on the "Cost analysis" tab.
  • 3. Select the subscription and date range for which you want to export the data.
  • 4. Click on the "Export" button and select the format (CSV or Excel) in which you want to export the data.
  • 5. Save the exported file to your local machine.

Once you have the exported file, you can import it into Power BI and use the same template that you were using before to visualize the data.
