I am unable to import specific images to power bi desktop via Insert > Image
The image i want to insert is 4.4 MB and .png file type
I downloaded few .png images from online of different size and able to insert image of 15MB as well. Sepcific images cannot be inserted.
Please let me know what would be the reason and if there is any workaround.

Hi @Manish1198
I dont have an explanation as to why your images can't be inserted but a workaround is to use a blank button and use an image to fill it with. Just remove the border and select either Fill or Fit from the options.
Hi @Manish1198 ,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community.
Thank you @danextian @burakkaragoz @Ritaf1983 for the prompt response.
I wanted to check if you had the opportunity to review the information provided and resolve the issue..?
Thank you.
Yes, using a blank button filled with an image is a suitable workaround for the issue with importing an image directly via Insert > Image.
Hi @Ritaf1983 , @danextian , @burakkaragoz
The following link has different dimensinos and sizes. Out of this only 1.3(4) version is being supported and the rest cannot be imported.
As I want the dimensions of image to be less(130*130) I want to have the max pixels/resolution so that image has clarity.

Hope this will provide further details.

Also tried compressing your images using tinypng and inserted those compresseed images instead.
Hi @Manish1198 ,
I’ve seen this happen before with PNGs that look fine but have metadata or encoding quirks that Power BI doesn’t like. Even if the file size is under the limit, some PNGs (especially ones downloaded from design sites) can have embedded color profiles or transparency layers that cause issues.
Here’s what I’d try:
Let me know if you want me to test the image for you. You can upload it somewhere and share the link.

Hi @Manish1198
It may not be exactly png. Perhaps one with incorrect extension.
Hi @Manish1198
It's difficult to diagnose without seeing the actual image file.
Here are some general suggestions:
1. Try re-saving the image as .jpg and importing again.
Ensure the file:
2. Is not animated (e.g., PNGs with layers),
3. Attempt importing the same image into other tools (PowerPoint or Power BI Service) to isolate the issue.
4. Share the re-saved image (via Google Drive or OneDrive with public access) so that it can be reviewed more thoroughly.
