Hello everyone! I am trying to apply the currency function to a field and noticed that I do not have all of the same Modeling functions as tutorials that I have been watching.

Hi @ACHIANCONE ,
According to the screenshot you provided above, we found that you clicked on the table name in the fileds on the right side, you only need to click the target column or measure correctly for it to pop up the column tool or measure tool properly.
Also,you may try to do this in Data View in Power BI Desktop instead of in Report View.
Please try it like the GIF. below:

I have watched tutorials with Avi Singh. When I go to the measure tab and attempt to change the currence, there is no output from that selection. I have tried this a number of times, possibly I am in the incorrect area?

what tutorial have you watched?
if you mean you want to format column or measure as a Currency you should pick this column/measure at the right pane and go to the Column/measure tab
