Unable to create selection filter for all and subset of data

Hi Guys,

This may be a small issue, but I am unabel to get arounf a solution for this:

So, I have a table that has 3 columns: name, roll and nature as seen below:

I want to create a slicer that displays two options 'Good' and 'All' where choosing 'Good' shows only rows that had Nature as 'Good' and another option named 'All' that will show all the rows irrespective of the Nature in any of the rows.

Hi,

Why do you need to show all in the slicer?  When nothing is selected in the slicer, it is the same as selecting all entries.

I agree with you here that I do not need an 'All' slicer actually.

Then, how should the slicer look like? Do you mean a slicer that says 'Good' and is unchecked will return all the rows and if checked will return just the rows with Nature as 'Good' right?

If this is how it should be, how should I implement it in Power BI?

Hi,

Just create a simple slicer.  That will show you 2 entries Good and Bad.  If non of them is selected, it would be the same as All being selected.

I did do that but the business does not want to see the option 'Bad' as one of the slicer choices as none of the measures I have are based on any rows that are 'Bad'.

The data I mentioned is just an example, the big picture has multiple columns and there are so many measures that we are showing on a dashboard and the business wants a capability to switch betwwen 'All' rows and the 'Good' rows only.

So, I want to have a solution to swtich between only 'Good' or 'All' rows.
