Unable to connect Teradata from Power BI "Error: [Teradata Database] [9719] QVCI feature is disabled

Hi All,

It's regarding an error (below screenshots) when I'm trying to connect to Teradata from Power Bi Desktop, I tried in both ways to connect still doesn't workout.

1. Get Data- Database- Teradata Database and provide the Server name to Import the tables, after importing trying to preview the table getting this error.

2. Connecting thru ODBC (Get Data- Search for ODBC in search box) also getting the same error.

Error:

Power BI To Teradata Error.JPG

My colleague is able to connect and load tables with 1st method, but not with 2nd getting the same error as like above.

Please take a look and suggest this error.

I resolved this error by installing a newer version of the .NET Data Provider for Teradata: https://downloads.teradata.com/download/connectivity/net-data-provider-for-teradata

Maybe try installing a newer version of the ODBC driver--or just use the .NET one instead: https://downloads.teradata.com/download/connectivity/odbc-driver/windows

Thanks for the solution Jeff.

Tried installing newer version of the ODBC drivers (16.20) but that dosen't work out.

After installing .NET Data Provider 16.20(latest version) i'm able to connect and load the data in Power BI from 1st method but not with second.

Right now I've Teradata SQL Assistant 16.10 and Drivers also 16.10 version installed.

1. Get Data- Database- Teradata Database and provide the Server name to Import the tables, after importing trying to preview the table getting this error.

2. Connecting thru ODBC (Get Data- Search for ODBC in search box) also getting the same error.

Any further help/solution on this is much appriciated.

Thanks,

Sathya.

Why are you using ODBC?  Did you install the 32-bit or 64-bit version of the ODBC?  Power BI will use the 64-bit one.

yes Jeff, I've ODBC Driver for Teradata 64 bit installed.
