Unable to Publish from Desktop to Web: Unable to write data to the transport connection

Hello,

I have followed the steps in the following posts, but am still unable to publish some reports

https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/Bug-quot-Unable-to-write-data-to-the-transport-connection-An...

https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Issue-with-Publishing-PBIX-File/m-p/68513

My experience with the error has been as follows:

1. When I open reports in PBI Desktop I am able to refresh them fine, but when I use the publish button I receive the error "An error occured while attempting to publish (report): Unable to write data to the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host."

2. When following solutions in the above two posts I experience

 a. I have updated and rolled back PBI trying serveral different versions, all with the same error

 b. When trying to publish the same report to my personal workspace, I receive the same error

 c. When I create a new report I am able to publish that to PBI Web, and I see the new test report appear in the workspace

 d. Others at my company are able to publish the same file to the same workspace, so the error is not with the size of the file or any other of its properties

Any other advice on things I can try would be greatly appreciated

I solved the problem. The issue was not with power bi, but the postgres database permissions. I had permission to create/access for the tables used in the report, but not for the schema the tables were held in. I used the GRANT command to grant myself permissions. The permissions I needed was USAGE, SELECT I think, but the documentation is here

https://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/sql-grant.html

@jmangles

Please delete existing dataset from power bi service and publish (before delete you need to remove from app).

The issue is for data source, please check your data source connect between two version and credential.

I receive this error if I try to publish a new report, even if there is not an existing report to delete
