Hi,
I am trying to connect Power BI Desktop to an SQL server. When I put in the Server and databse name I get the following error:
Unable to connect
We encountered an error while trying to connect.
Details: "Microsoft SQL: Invalid object name 'sys.extended_properties'.
Invalid object name 'sys.types'."
Is anyone aware of why this may be happening and potential fixes?
Thanks,
@MilanSpremo , very old blog, check if that can help

Make sure you are using backslash "\" , in case of local database
example
localhost\sqlexpress
Hi,
thanks for the reply. I've found that the source is actually an ODBC with an access front-end. When trying to connect I now get the following message:
Unable to connect
We encountered an error while trying to connect
Details: "ODBC: ERROR [IM014] The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver (32-bit) and Application (64-bit)"
Is the issue that the source may be an outdated 32-bit source?
thanks,
