Hi all,
I signed up for a free trial for Azure, added a SQL Database and configured the firewall, but I am still not able to connect to the SQL Server (Direct Query or Import)
What might I be missing here?
thanks

Hi @UncleLewis ,
In your scenario, do you install SSMS on the same machine that has Power BI Desktop installed? If not, except the “allow access to Azure services” setting, please ensure that you have set up a firewall rule to allow Power BI Desktop to make a connection to Azure SQL.
Please upgrade the Power BI Desktop to the latest version 2.73.5586.1101 , and then try it again.
Best Regards,
Amy

Thanks Amy,
SSMS is installed on the same machine as Power BI Desktop
I upgraded Power BI Desktop a few days ago so I am using version 2.73.5586.984 64-bit (Sep, 2019)
On the Azure Portal, I clicked on my SQL Database >> Set Server Firewall and under Allow Azure services and resources to access this server, I added my IP Address
Is there anything else I need to do?
Thanks
