UK Postcode Mapping with Custom Boundaries

I've just started using PowerBI though am experienced in other BI solutions. Very keen to understand if I can map fill based on custom boundaries, such as postcode. Better still bespoke mapping by grouping postcodes together to create a custom area - this is possible to deliver with alternative products.

There appears to be very limited information regarding this online at present. I suspect my request is currently not possible to deliver though I'd be delighted to try with even a significant amount of pain involved to create.

The default maps Filled Map and Globe Map support UK post codes through Bing Map geocoding I believe. Your best bets around what you are specifically looking to do would be to probably use Shape Map and the new ArcGIS Esri map. Shape Map lets you define your own shapes to fill in. ArcGIS Esri maps are highly functional but they are in preview in Power BI so the specific functionality may not be there yet.
