Two Table Relationships

Good Morning All,

I have a workspace that has two tables. One table is the main reference for a list of students, and the other give their training compliance percetange over different modules. As we track this compliace weekly, I am happy that I have two tables to do this.

The students are split by two main columns, the site they study (Central, East or West) and whether they are based in a school or college (Type).

I have managed to get one relationship to work by dragging the 'Site' column from table 1 to the 'Site' column from table 2. However I cannot do it with the 'Type' columns. I did read somewhere that an index table might help me but as I am quite new I am unsure what that would look like.

Here is what one of the tables looks like -

Any help (with screenshots) will be massively appreciated.

@nickcurry you basically need to do the relationship based on the key column which in your case is student unique identifer (id/key/etc), not their name cause then two students can have the same name.
I sugggest to start by looking the free introducion course for data modeling by sqlbi (better of course the full course and also the mastering dax course but they cost money).
https://www.sqlbi.com/training/

I will check that out, 100%.

I actually already have a column on the main table called Student Number where everyone has a unique number. Will this do? And if so, what should I do with it now in terms or relationship?
