Trying to create a budget allocation graph in power bi. Is this possible?

I am trying to create a budget allocation graph. So some money are flow in and split into different categories. And the user can select specific category like name or territory etc. Another example of what I want could also be found in google : https://wiki.smartsimple.com/wiki/Allocation_Chart

Is this possible in pbi? Thanks

Hello, look into Bowtie Chart by MAQ Software.

The URL to the specific visual is  Bowtie Chart by MAQ Software (microsoft.com)

You should spend some time over at Partner with Power BI Experts | MAQ Software, and familier yourself with their custom visuals which are quite reliable.

Show the flow of data from one category/process to another.

Use Bowtie Chart by MAQ Software to quickly compare values in one or more categories. Bowtie Chart by MAQ Software is ideal for displaying sales metrics, such as the flow of a sale from channel to category. The thickness of the bowtie's branches indicates the relative weight of each category. Create a full bowtie to showcase how a cumulative value splits into two distinct sub-categories. Alternately, you can create a half bowtie, showcasing the distribution of data within a source.

Business Uses:

  • Risk Management – Compare mitigating factors against the consequences of a risk
  • Sales – Break down sales by region and sub-region
  • Customer service – Categorize problems by customer type
  • Human Resources – Classify new hires over a period by hiring source and department

Key Features:

  • Configurable branch color
  • Configurable font size, color, and decimal precision for data labels and summary labels
  • Configurable format (half bowtie or full bowtie)
  • Interactive with other visuals

What's New in 4.0.1:

  • Fixed summary label position

Hi,@makarama,I am glad to help you.
Hello,@foodd,thanks for your concern about this issue.

Your answer is excellent! And I would like to share some additional solutions below.

Have you found a suitable visual, if you have, you can share your solution or mark as a solution any suggestion you find helpful.
If you haven't found a solution yet, you can refer to my suggestion below.
I recommend using decomposition tree visuals in power BI.

The decomposition tree visuals are suitable for hierarchical data and help you analyze the data and drill down to the details of each category.
