One of my users said they had a hard time figuring out which item was selected since the light colors are very similar to colors that aren't hightlighted
Any thoughts on how to fix this? (for reference one of them was selected and I am not sure I can tell you which one it was looking at the screen cap 🙂 )

Do you use "Advance controls" to set the color for the tree map?
What purpose do you use the tree map ?
Maybe we could find more clear visual to achieve your goal.

The tree map is being used to represent quantity produced of each product so picking specific colors for specific products won't help because the products change over time
