The reason for this issue should be that you chose Count(Distinct). If you choose Count, the result will be correct. Count(Distinct) only counts the number of different values in a column. Because you put Date Group in both Columns and Values in the matrix, it is 1/2017 to calculate the number of 1/2017. Obviously, it is 1. Similarly, the 8/2020 column calculates the number of 8/2020 and it is 1. Column subtotals is calculated as the number of 1/2017 and 8/2020, so it is 2.And Count counts the number of all values in a column.
