I have a Power BI report that contains a table of values and strings. Some of the strings are real long, and thus I configured the table to Wordwrap these values per the request of my end users (report viewers). However, my users also want to be able to toggle word wrap on or off for that table. This doesn't seem to be possible for report viewers unless they can edit the report (which we do not allow).
I was able to create a workaround by using bookmarks and utlilizing two data tables and two buttons. One data table has wordwrap while the other doesn't. One button is configured to load bookmark (wordwapp-on), and the other button configured to load bookmark (wordwrap-off). Thus, I have two buttons and two data tables with one set is hidden while the other is displayed. When the user clicks the displayed button, it performs the action to load the defined bookmark. Thus it gives the illusion of toggling wordwrap on/off in the data table.
However, I'm hoping for a more elegant solution than using bookmarks to toggle wordwrap in a data table... preferably a solution that just allows the report viewer to decide if they want wordwrap on/off for tables they view. Is this possible, or would I need to submit a "Wish" for it?
Hi @Namkce,
Yes, current power bi does not support you to direct interaction with these word warp options. I'd like to suggest you submit ideas for your requirements. (bookmark with the button should be a workaround for these but they require you to create duplicate report pages)
