The highlighted tooltip can not be left undisplayed

Hi @Gawain ,

Currently in Powerbi, it is not possible to select a row in a form and then want to cancel the highlight in the tooltips.

But you can learn about Edit Interactions under Format.

I create a table as you mentioned and make it into a line chart.

Then I open Edit Interactions.

You can only change these three buttoms and if you select filter, you will not see highlight data.

Hello @Gawain ,

You can setup a query reduction setting in your Desktop by disabling the cross-filtereing like below.

For Individual visual please try the below..

In Power BI Desktop, go to the Format tab and choose Edit Interactions >>Select the visual you want to modify (in your case, the one that is highlighting values)>>Click on the Filter icon (instead of the brush icon). This will apply the filter without highlighting the values.

If you find this helpful , please mark it as solution which will be helpful for others and Your Kudos/Likes are much appreciated!

Thank you very much for your help, but it did not take effect after I set it. I tried to restart the power bi desktop, but it still did not work

The "highlighted" tooltip is in the visual itself and not in the query being sent so toggling that setting won't affect the cross-highlighting behaviour. You can either change to filtering instead of highlighting or use a page tooltip.

Hi @Gawain

If you want highlighted to not display in the tooltiop you need to change the visual interaction from highlight to filter or use a page tooltip instead.
