If a table visual contains any fields that are aggregated by sum, the individual filter visual does not filter the data in the table correctly. All other visuals filter properly, though. For example, if I have a field in a table visual, and it is aggregated by sum, the data in that table will not filter properly. If I change the aggregate to “Do Not Summarize,” the data filters just fine. However, this prevents me from being able to use the totals row feature on the table visual. This is only and issue in the Power BI Service. The filters work properly in the Power BI Desktop application -- I am publishing my report from the Power BI Desktop application to the Power BI Service.
@lacwilliams Your question and purpose is not very clear. Do you have problem in Desktop or in service? Secondly provide some screen shots to expalin your issue.
I am having trouble with the Service. I cannot provide the type of screen shots that you are asking for, but I can explain in further detail.
My specific question is as follows: How can I include fields, which are aggregated by sum, in a table visual and use the filter visual to display filtered data?
My purpose for doing this is so that I can provide individual lines of data in a table visual, and include the "Totals Row" feature, and then use filters to be able to look at specific data by certain criteria.
My issue is that when the fields included in the table are summed (as shown in the picture on this page: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/de-de/documentation/powerbi-service-change-the-aggregation-in-a-chart/... the filters do not work properly. They will either not filter the data at all, or they will not unfilter the data when they are deselected. I could change the fields to "Do Not Summarize," but again, that prevents me from being able to apply the "Totals Row" feature.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
