Table Custom partitions - refresh only one partition

HI All

For a report, I want to use custom partition for a table, which should hold some history of data to reduce the time of the refresh, or need to refresh all the data. For this case, it is not posible (probably) to use the incremental refresh function of PBI (because of source data, which have some back-valuation).

The question is, if in PBI is some function to refresh only one (or more) partitions of the table and other partition would be without refresh contain some historical data? I know, that there are some API, to do this, but i would like to do this with standard function of PBI.

Any experience, advice would be helpful.

thank you

Hi @tomas12344 ,

If I understand you correctly, you can try this method:

In Power BI Desktop, click the Model:

And you can holding down Ctrl, select the tables you want to refresh in the right side.

Choose the Refresh data.

Hope this helps you.

HI @v-yinliw-msft

thank you for the answer, but no, that is not what I'm asking. As I understand, the custom partition are not supported by Desktop, you can create custom partition only in Service and only with for example Tabular editor.
This, what are you describing is refesh of the full table, I need to refresh only one (or more) partition of the table, and schedule refresh of one (or more) partitions.

Hi @tomas12344 ,

Understood. You want to refresh the partitions of a table, not refresh a table in many tables.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, there are no other methods to do this except the incremental refresh and API.
