Hello there,
I am currently working out of 2 computers under the same Windows 10 / OneDrive personal login. They are both logged in under the same Microsoft (not local) account.
However, on one PC, the user name is, say, "ABCDEF", whereas on the second, it has been shortened to say "ABC". As such, when I open my workbook / Power BI files and refresh, I need to manually "re-link" the sources everytime as they are saved under a "different" C:\users\ABCDEF folder across the 2 computers.
Is there a way to rename one of the computers to have the same User folder in C:\users or am I going to break something?
Thank you!
Hi @augustine
Hi @augustine
If you are connecting to files stored on OneDrive, you could directly connect to it via Power BI.
If you have data source file in computer 1, but your Power BI Desktop is in computer 2,
Make sure computer 2 have access to computer 1,
then you can use file path in computer 1 to connect to the file in Power BI desktop.
Best Regards
Maggie
