Support

Hello,

I am experiencing difficulties with Power BI Desktop version: 2.138.1452.0. We use a manual proxy and have added exceptions for the following domains:

  • app.powerbi.com
  • api.powerbi.com
  • *.analysis.windows.net

Despite these configurations, when attempting to authenticate with the internal account, the application returns an error with the following message:

"We couldn't sign you in. We encountered an error while trying to sign you in. Details: An error occurred while sending the request."

Additionally, I configured the authentication to use a browser, but it does not redirect as expected.

Could you please assist with resolving this issue?

Thank you in advance for your support!

Hi @pedroal  - Power BI Desktop might not fully support certain proxy authentication methods. Using basic proxy authentication can cause errors, leading to improper configuration. It's recommended to use stronger proxy authentication mechanisms to resolve such issues.

It doesn't provide a direct interface to configure proxy settings. However, it utilizes the system's proxy settings. Ensure that your system's proxy settings are correctly configured to allow Power BI Desktop to access the necessary services.

Hi @pedroal ,

I completely agree with rajendraongole1, but I have a little bit of my own opinion that I hope will help you.

1. Clear the cache in Power BI Desktop. You can do this by going to File > Options and settings > Options > Global > Data Load and clicking on Clear cache.

2. If using a browser for authentication is not working, try switching to another method, such as Integrated or Basic authentication, if applicable.
