Hi all,
If tried to do a simple summarise table on the raw data table but the numbers aren't stacking up when i compare it with a simple card and filter or auto sum in excel. I'd appreicate it if you can help.
consider a dataset like the following:
Material,density,volume,weight,cost/kg
steel,7850,10,7850,50
steel,7850,20,15700,50
concrete,2400,2,4800,25
so what id like to have is a summarise table grouped by material, density, cost per kg, total weight and caluclated column for total cost, something like the following.
material, density, cost per kg, total weight, total cost
steel, 7850, 50, 23550,1177500
concrete, 2400,25,4800, 120000

For this you can do a group in Power Query:
Add a column with the calculation for total cost:
Now do a group by:
