I have a SharePoint list with multiple columns that employees update monthly with various business data, and I'd like to display the summaries via PowerBI.
I have several columns that are fomatted as 'Number' entries, and all data in there is basic numeric entries for types of waste disposed (plastics, food, e-waste etc.); I'd like to have the total value of those columns displayed in Power BI cards, so we can see a runing total which updates each time someone records another waste disposal, alongsoide a relavant icon or graphic of the waste type.
I've tried the in-built PBI functionality, but can't seem to get it to work and tried the SUM formula, but keep getting a "Function SUM cannot work with values of type string" error.
All help appreciated!

Hi @IanT76 ,
Go to the query editor and check if those columns have a ABC or a 123 at the rigth side of the header.
If they have a ABC or a ABC/123 change the format of the column to number or decimal and you should be abble to get it to work.
