Sum of a Switch statement

My dax equation is this,

New_Outstanding = Switch(true(),

                                 [Outstanding] = -1, 1,

                                 [Outstanding] = 1, 1,

                                 0)

"Outstanding" is another measure. When I put New_Outstanding in a table, I can see it is giving the values as expected, however when I try to display the total in a Card it's displaying 0

Hi @Anonymous ,

Measures are based on context so in this case when you don't have the Outsanding to get you the context you don't have totals. If you want to count this you should use something similar to:

Sum OutStanding = SUMX(  ADDCOLUMNS(Table, "@New_OutStanding",[New_OutStanding] ), [@New_OutStanding])

In this case the table should be your context so if your are using a fact table it should be it, or depending on the result could be a table that is calculated with a summarize funcion or similar.
