In my table, "issues", which is just an import of a csv file, I have a column called "Stage" which has several different values and many blanks. When I use this column as a simple table or stacked column chart, the values are not grouped together correctly. When I do the same for the "Status" field, the values are grouped correctly. I don't understand why this is not working the same for the "Stage" column. See image below. You can see there are multple "Investigation", Blank, and "RMA" values that are not grouped with each other. What causes this?

Found the cause. The "Stage" column was sorted by another "StageSort" and there was misalignment with the number of values to sort by and the number of different values in the stage column. Once I entered the correct number of options, the graph staightened out.
