Specific values in a slicer

Hi,

I am having a trouble to user a slicer where I don't want to show all possible selection. I would like to show in this slicer specific values.

I am giving an exemple to be more clearer.

My table looks like this

Then when I am using a slicer on the Indicator's column, I don't want to have in this slicer, indicators which are not in the same scale. GDP, Education Budget and Industry Budget are in millions and others indicators are expressed as percentage.

So is it possible to use a slicer where i specific the value I want to be selected ?

I tried it with creating a column or a measure but I did not succeed.

I would like to have a slicer wihch regroup (Education Budget, GDP, Industry Budget) and one other with (Mortality, Poverty, Unemployment).

How can, i do this, without split the data into 2 tables ?

Thank you for your help.

Hi,

1) Create a slicer

2) Put the column 'Indicator' in it

3) Click on the slicer, then in the Filter Panel, you can select or unselect the item you want

You can do this twice if you want to create two customised filters as you mentioned.

Tell me if it's ok :).

Hi,

Yes you can make them independant.

- Click on the first slicer

- Go to the 'Format' section in the tool pannel

- Click on 'Edit interactions'

- Then you click on the black circle sign which appeared close to the second slicer (see below)

Now your second slicer is independant from the selection of the first.

Do the same thing with the second slicer and all should be good

Thank you Rudy for your solution.

So, I have created the two slicers and use the filter plane as you suggest for customizing the selection.

It's working but I can't make the slicer independant. If i select one the other slicer will be empty.

Plus I've linked each bar chart with his slicer.

As you can see, the second slicer and the graph are not apparent.

Is there a possibility to make the slicer independant.

For example if I select one item in the first slicer, the second slicer still have the others choices and not be affected by the first slicer's selection.

Best regard.
