Sorting graph legend differently from standard in pBI

Hi all, it is my first post here.

I am starting to use powerbi and need to sort the legend in my bar graph in a different way. I need it to state Creating Deals - Advancing Deals - Closing Deals because this is the correct order.

Do you guys know any basic way of doing so?

Hi @vs_7 It did not since I could not find the custom sorting as an option in my powerbi.

Any idea if it might be a version thing?

HI @Anonymous ,

check below steps

  1. Select the bar graph visual in your report.

  2. On the right side of the Power BI window, locate the "Visualizations" pane.

  3. In the "Fields" section of the "Visualizations" pane, find the field that represents the legend (e.g., "Deal Stage").

  4. Click on the ellipsis (...) next to the field name and choose "Sort Ascending" or "Sort Descending" to change the sorting order. By default, it may be sorted alphabetically.

  5. To specify a custom sorting order, click on the ellipsis again and choose "Sort Ascending (Custom)" or "Sort Descending (Custom)."

  6. In the "Sort by Column" dialog box, you can define a custom column to use for sorting. If you don't have a separate column for the desired sorting order, you can create a calculated column in your data model to represent the custom sorting order.

  7. Once you have selected the custom sorting column, click "OK" to apply the sorting to the legend.

Hi @vs_7 ,

thank you for replying so quick, but it might be a "me problem", but I can't find the option to custom sorting. I only see descending or ascending. Am I in the right place here?
