Sorting by individual columns instead of total in a matrix

Can we sort matrix by a column instead of the total. 

I want to see the sales by the vp's by month and year which is more convenient to see in a matrix. Say i am seeing data for Jan and Feb 2023, I want to sort by Jan'23 only which I am unable to do since in a matrix we can sort only by totals. 

I saw somewhere they say you can sort it by creating measure but i really did not understand the logic behind those measures.

Sales amount is also a measure which goes like 

Sales Amount = IF(SELECTEDVALUE('Reporting Currency'[Reporting Currency],"Base")="Base",sum(Sales[Base Amount]),sum(Sales[Orginal Amount]))

I understand the bottlenecks using this visual but i am just trying to find out if suppose the user wants to sort by any month can they do it on the individual columns is there a possible way, it may not necessarily be a matrix and can be any other visual also.

Unfortunately yes, please vote for these ideas.

Idea

You can also consider hard-coding the year and month, but this will lose the subtotal of the column.
