Hi there,
I'm sort of a beginner at Power Bi, I've been trying to make a custom week number column in order to use it in visuals. I've run into the problem of trying to sort the column but have had no luck. I understand that in order to sort the WeekOfYear column, I need to tell Bi a set of unique values for it to sort through. But I'm not entirely sure how to do it : /
Below is what I'm working with, as well as a screenshot of the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, bonus question, why does the table - when sorted by Date - always lists October first, when the first month is Sept? Thank you!!

Hi @axmor ,
Sorting a column by another column will not work if there is more than one sort value. For example, 202144 has both 43 and 44 in WeekOfYear. It appears that WeeknYear is a number so I don't understand why cant just sort it by itself.
Also, bonus question, why does the table - when sorted by Date - always lists October first, when the first month is Sept? Thank you!! -
It appears, based on your screenshot, that the Date column is sorting properly. If you sort your table by Month Name which is a text, then it is normal for Oct to come first before Sep as they're sorted alphabetically (O P Q R S). If you want to sort it based on the month order in the calendar, then you need to use a different column to sort them by. Try creating a calculated column for month number using MONTH(Table[Date]) and then use that for sorting.
based on the error message. One value in weekofyear has more than one weeknyear value. That's why we can't do the sort. pls check the data.
