Someone claims to use slicer to change visual type (in read mode)

Hi all,

I just watched a tutorial video that kind of blew my mind.  The guy claimed to be able to switch the visual type with a slicer and WITHOUT using bookmarks.  He says he uses a switch function, similar to how you would make a dynamic measure through the use of a switch function and slicer selection

He doesn't actually show how he did it, so I'm not sure if it's legit or just visual trickery (as in he's using buttons and bookmarks).

Here's the blog post (it's the dynamic visuals video) -> https://aimconsulting.com/insights/blog/how-to-dynamically-change-power-bi-report-views-on-the-fly/

Here's the direct youtube link -> https://youtu.be/OPTdZBJbSLU

Please let me know what you think, thanks!!1.png

@Nexter,

I don't think that it is possible to directly use slicer to change visual type dynamically in Power BI Desktop. However, we are able to put together bookmark and buttons to achieve the scenario that change visual type dynamically.

Regards,

Lydia

Thank you.  That's what I figured, it's just he made it look so believable in his example.
