Hello,
I have query about creating scheduled snapshot period ( example : every sunday) to save the data for my dashboard and i am pulling data from SQL server using directquery. I have direct source which is dyanmics and could not check what was data before and changes in weekly basics.
Is there a way to create snapshot in powerBI ?
Thanks and Regards,
Ei Ei
@Greg_Deckler , Thanks for reply. Actually, I am creating a dashboard for my current project which will have many data source combining DirectQuery source combining from SQL server and datasets from different PowerBI dashboards. This dashboard will be creating numbers of job counts in each job segements and can see changes in everyweeks so that the managemet team can do estimation of forecast and past data comparison. ( better planning and forecasting)
Would you please guide me about scorecard and save in sharepoint/myworkspace automatically? Would appreciate if you could help.
Regards,EiEi
@Eiei Well, you can sort of do that with Scorecards now. Overall though, that's not a strength of Power BI and especially not with DirectQuery. There are ways to do it using import mode but they are super messy.
