Smart Narrative Not Available

Hello,

 

I replied to a topic two days ago however I'm not sure if it will be seen due to being marked as solved.

Unfortunately I am experiencing the same issue as - https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Desktop/Power-BI-Smart-Narrative/m-p/4170209

I have uninstalled and re-installed Power BI Desktop (multiple times!) to the latest version (July 2025) but still the standard Narrative visual selection is only appearing in the visual pane and Smart Narrative is not. From what I can see, this is no longer a preview feature. 

 

I have also exhausted all of the tips with enabling preview features, clearing caches, restoring default visual pane etc etc. PBI service doesn't show smart narrative neither. There must be something I'm missing here?

Any idea's please?

      Hello,

       

      Thanks both v-venuppu / rajendraongole1 . This makes more sense now!

      What I found to be misleading on this occasion is that for Smart Narrative promotional feature content online and on previous Fabric community posts whilst in preview mode, there was no mention of needing Copilot or fabric capacity subscriptions! Another feature that requires additional spend but at least I now know.
