Hello everyone,
I was wondering if the following setting with unselectable parameters is possible:
I have a slicer with year and month like this
with the slicer setting "single select" turned on.
Can I disable the selection of the years somewhere? I still want them to be shown, in order to signal the respective year, but if one selects the year, it basically is a hidden selection of 12 month.
Thanks to you all.
Best

Solved! Go to Solution.
The built-in slicer doesn't have this feature. But you can use a custom visual HierarchySlicer to meet your need.
Select Leafs only for Selection type.

Yes, there is a hierarchy. But I do not want to hide the year, I just want to have it non-selectable.
As I have the setting to "just select one month" (=single select" in slicer setting), selecting the year radio button would overrule this.
Hi @hashtag_pete ,
I don't yhink you can achieve that in a hierarchy slicer.
Hierarcy works on the principle of selecting something in the top hierarchy and then selecting something in the lower hierarchy.
Thanks,

Hi @hashtag_pete ,
Just seeing the screenshot, I can see that you are moving a hierarchy to your slicer - Year --> Month
You can't hide YEAR in this case.
May be try creating 2 different slicers - One of YEAR and another one for MONTH.
See if that helps.
Thanks,
Pragati
