Slicer for a measure

Hi,

Wondering if what I'm wanting to do is possible.

Set up is, a table full of bookings (many), which links (one to many) to a table full of customers (one) and a date table (one).

I've then got a measure of number of customers (countrows), number of bookings (countrows) and TTV (sum).

What my end user wants to do use slicers to filter the customers by booking date (for example in the last year or last 2 years) and by number of bookings and TTV in that period. Without using the filters, is there a way of doing this with a slicers so the end user can see how many guests made 2 or more bookings and spent £10k or more? Or is the only way to use the visual filters, meaning I'm restricted to 1 visual or have to explain to end user to change the filter on each visual

Thanks

Mainly, you have 2 alternatives in your case :

  •  Create a calculated table that aggregates bookings and TTV by customer and by period

  • Create measures that dynamically calculate the count of customers, bookings, and TTV based on the selected slicer values

Another approach is to use parameter tables as slicers, which can control the values of the measures based on user selection.

Thanks @AmiraBedh do have a guide on either method? I did start trying to go down the Parameters route, but I got stumped on how to link it to a measure.

With the calculated column route, how can I factor in the use of a date slicer into this? Or would i have to provide a fixed period, that the end user can't adjust?

Thanks

Yes if you share your data/model 😄
