Slicer deselects when selecting a specific bar in my chart

Hi all,

New member here just learning to work with Power BI.

I'm currently creating a report with a waterfall chart, a table showing the detail for the chart and a slicer to manipulate the chart & table.

When I make a selection in the slicer, the chart and table change as expected. If I then select a specific bar in my chart, in order to get the table to show the detail for this bar and the active slicer selection, the slicer automatically goes back to selecting all options.

Any ideas how to solve this?

Hi Veena,

Thanks for your reply, but I think I have found the solution already.

It was a mistake on my part, instead of selecting the 'slicer' visual, I dragged the variable from my field list to the report field and it was added as a table rather than a slicer.
